Email Advertising - is it still viable?

tagged and

With the enormous amount of spam being generated and ultimately being filtered and blocked on the Internet these days, is there any real value left in email advertising?

Well, yes and no. The trick is managing to find the correct form of email advertising and ensuring that the email contacts it is going to are verified, confirmed and actually receiving the emails. One of the most common forms of email advertising is to use safelists.

There are literally thousands of safelists available for you to join, own or administrate, but not all safelists are created equal. You might be surprised to learn that on maybe 60% of safelists, the emails only actually reach around 40% of those in their list (maybe even less).

If safelist advertising is a large part of your marketing strategy, make sure you check out the network before investing a lot of time. For example, a safelist network that contains hundreds of safelists might claim they have 300,000 members to send your ad to. Unfortunately, this is a highly inflated figure and reflects the total number of “members” but not the total number of emails. Generally, a member of one safelist in a network is also a member of multiple safelists, if not all of the ones in that network.

So a list of 300,000 members can be reduced to a total of 20,000 real people receiving your email. And of those 20,000 it’s highly likely that only 40% will actually receive it due to filtering, blocking and mail dumping.

This really is an unfortunate situation as safelists have long been the only method of “do-it-yourself” bulk email advertising that is free or very close to free. While not all lists suffer from these issues, there is a very large majority that do.

If you want to refine your safelist marketing, it would be a good idea to sign up for one or two lists in the networks you are considering and check to see if you are receiving emails - your own and others. If you don’t receive any email, the chances are that nobody will receive yours either. In addition, you will want to monitor how many solo ads are sent to your contact email address. Traditionally, your contact email address has been just that - an address to receive important emails when your admin needs to contact you. Today, however, it is mostly used as a means of generating income for the safelist admin by sending single ads that are paid for by members and other consumers.

If you find yourself receiving 10 or more of these solo ads a day, it might be better to look for other lists that are not emailed so heavily. Not only is it annoying to receive so many ads from each list, it also ties up their email server which usually delays or completely drops other “less important” emails, such as the advertising ones you intend to send to the lists yourself.

Some safelist networks, admins, hosts and owners do run responsible safelist sites, ensuring that solo advertising is kept to a minimum and that lists are only allowed within a few select submitters (a topic for another day). These managers ensure that bounce scripts are run frequently to clean out and delete email addresses that are blocked, meaning that the receipt rate for emails is closer to 90%.

Remember if you do sign up to any safelists to test out their responsiveness, you will need a very good email account that can stand receiving a lot of emails every day. Do not use your regular ISP email as it will most likely block safelist mail anyway. And when you send your ads to the lists, make sure you use a tracker such as GoTryThis to test the responsiveness of your ads on different lists.

If you are interested in finding out more about owning your own safelist, we recommend the following reputable networks:

Ultimate Safelist Host
Ezy Safelists
WooDoggie

For your safelist email account, we recommend one of the following:

Gmail (free)
Yuhknow (paid)

Need some Muscle to help you get more Sales?

tagged , , and

John Reel, developer of 2006’s Internet Marketing product of the Year, GoTryThis, is launching a brand new sale-maker product especially designed from the ground up for anyone marketing a product or service. The launch of SalesBully is going to create quite a stir amongst marketers and I’m sure you will see these techniques being used on YOU!

SalesBully will motivate, coerce, persuade, scare and yep… downright “bully” your visitors into buying your product or service NOW! The software uses some proven psychological techniques such as fear of loss and social proof to really motivate your visitors into spending their money today.

And no, this is not one of those lame “you have until midnight” type of fear tactics.

This is real.

Seriously real.

What do I mean by that? You’ve all seen those so-called “one time offer” pages where this is your only chance to buy at this low price, yada, yada, yada. But SalesBully lives up to it’s promises. When your sales page tells your visitors this is their only chance - it means it!

Think about this scenario:

You have a product or membership site that you are selling and want to sell the first 100 copies at a special discount price.

You expect these discount copies to sell out rather quickly, so you want to make sure that your product is sold on a “first-come, first-served” basis.

A visitor comes along to your site and sees your special option to buy at a discount. They also see ticking along on the page the number of these copies that are left (of course, all handled automatically by SalesBully).

Rather than buy now, they decide to bookmark the page and come back tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a few other visitors are already visiting and buying and the number available is steadily decreasing (yes, in real time).

Now the first visitor comes back to your sales page a little while later, realizing that you might be selling out quickly. On a normal sales page, that visitor could browse the page a little longer, reading and digesting and making up their mind what they want to do…

But not with SalesBully on the job!

Now your visitor has come back, SalesBully recognizes them and reminds them that there was only ONE chance to get this special offer. But we don’t want to be too nasty, so SalesBully will give them one very generous second chance. But there’s a catch - they have 3 minutes to make up their mind or they’ll have to buy at your full price and miss out on the special offer completely!!

If they don’t click that BUY NOW button within those 3 minutes - WHAM! They’re out of there - off to the full buy price page for them.

And that of course, lets real buyers who are ready to buy now get in there and get what they came for. But, if the visitor in this story was even remotely considering buying your product (they must have been or they wouldn’t have come back for a second look), then these tactics will more than likely “strongly persuade” them to buy it now.

The above scenario is simply an example. SalesBully can be configured for your site in a number of different ways and to handle all kinds of events, launches and even just regular sales. It includes countdowns for pre-launches, limited quantity sales, real one-time offers for your signups and many other options. All customizable by you.

Okay, sounds great… how hard is it to get started?

Extremely easy.

A simple automated installation will have SalesBully uploaded and running on your site within a few minutes. No messy code to handle, no need to worry about file permissions and other messy stuff. The auomated installer does it all for you.

What can I use for my Sales Pages?

Pretty much, anything you want.

To use SalesBully motivational techniques on your pages only requires you to place some codes (automatically generated by SalesBully) into your already existing HTML pages. The only proviso here is that your pages be renamed with a .php extension if they aren’t already.

How Hard is it to Configure?

John Reel has already made quite a name for himself in promising… and delivering… software that is user-friendly and does all the things it needs to do, without cluttering or complicating things with a whole heap of functions you won’t ever need.

In short, a simple point-and-click wizard asks you questions about your various pages in a step-by-step fashion. When you’re done answering the questions, SalesBully provides you with the code you need for your page.

But I have lots of different products I want to promote

Good for you! SalesBully is a one-time purchase and you are then free to use it’s features to create codes for any number of sales pages, products, membership sites and more, on any domain you choose.

This is Good - but what about making it better?

John Reel has already thought of this too (bless him). Upgrades are automatically pushed down to your SalesBully software as soon they are available. Seen a bug? It will be patched automatically. A new feature added? Your software will be automatically upgraded to include it. So, whenever SalesBully becomes better, you know you’ll always still have the absolute best there is.

Yep, you’ve sold me. Now what about the bonuses?

Oh, come on! That’s something Internet Marketers do. I’m not an Internet Marketer. I just happen to love the SalesBully software. I’m not trying to bribe you to buy from my link or anything.

In fact, I really don’t do Internet Marketing, I’m more of a technical person.

So, there you have at. You really will kick yourself if you don’t at least go and take a look at SalesBully.

Independent Thought

SalesBully is an extremely powerful tool that boosts the sales up to multiple figures. As search engine marketing allow the web users to find and reach out your web presence, an internet marketing program can be regarded as the most powerful tool to attract the potential audience. Most of the people opt for ppc advertising to make most of the traffic generated to their web pages. Owing to the significance of online presence, a cheap web hosting may not offer what a business user may require in terms of higher standards of web page hosting, visitors’ browsing experience with an optimal web site design and a very stable and reliable backup facility.

A CMS For Marketers - About Time I Say!

tagged and

In my wanderings I have passed countless sites talking about everything
from how to host a site to hiring graphic designers. I’ve been on
countless forums… scrolling over pages of banter between programmers and
the unenlightened masses…

Trying to put together membership sites used to monetize my efforts
online, can seriously be a hassle. Even the original passion for a product
starts to subside when you start checking-off a to do list.

This is where MME3 or Marketing Main Event 3 comes to answer the call. I
did a search for “CMS Infusion” or CMSI, which basically - is used to
create niche sites, membership sites, sales letter sites - something you
use to build 99.9% of all your sites.

The thing that sets MME3 apart form other web building programs is the
graphically-driven easy to use interface, otherwise known as “The God
Panel” because of it’s powerful potential to operate an entire business by
itself.

If you are building all you sites yourself, putting up your own new
products every other day and making a fortune… you may have a better
grip on this internet biz thing then I do.

Do you thrill at putting your own sites together… or do you come away
from a night at Dreamweaver possessing only half a head of hair? Either
way, I’ve found the biggest helping hand since Tim Berners-Lee (father of
html) or Al Gore (great creator of the internet) put together.

Look it up and…Definitely check this out:

After making full use of the MME3 web building program for your website, choosing the best web hosting service can be a daunting task when it is the matter of choosing among many offering cheap web hosting with reasonable services. Many of the internet marketers choose the best mix of search engine optimization and latest technology infrastructure to make possible the affiliate program reliance and empowerment to provide a great quality service at the disposal of wireless internet providers who have played a major part in closing the geographic gaps in the communication through internet phones.
